R. Matthew Wallace
After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Arizona in 2004, Matt began his career at Bourn Companies working as a leasing agent on retail properties totaling over 400,000 square feet. In 2005, he joined the office development division and quickly became an integral member of a development team that amassed a $125 million real estate portfolio during a 3 year period. In 2009, Matt transitioned from development to asset management, where his primary focus and responsibility was the stabilization of the company’s 1.5 million square foot office and retail portfolio via operational and financial oversight. In 2012, Matt transitioned to acquisitions, where he identified and analyzed assets to acquire based upon company investment parameters.
While at MIT, Matt seeks to enhance his diverse real estate experience with a deeper understanding of real estate financial analysis and deal structures of various real estate transactions in order to prepare for a leadership position within the industry.
Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Matt enjoys running, swimming, traveling, and following his hometown college football and basketball teams.
