Application Instructions

Apply to the MSRED Program Here

All application forms and materials, including transcripts, GMAT/GRE and TOEFL / IELTS (if applicable) scores must be received by  January 15. We will not accept any materials after this date.

Once you submit your application, please allow 24 – 48 hours for a response detailing what, if any, materials may still be outstanding.  Please be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder for emails from the MSRED Program regarding your application.  

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Deadline

All application forms and materials, including GMAT /GRE, TOEFL/IELTS scores, and transcripts must be received by January 15. Materials received after January 15 will not be considered.  Exams taken by January 15 will not have scores that arrive by the deadline, and your application will be considered incomplete.  All exams must be taken by December 31 in order for scores to arrive by the application deadline. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The average score for tests are: GMAT 700; GRE 160 per section; TOEFL 100+; IELTS 7.5+

Please note the online application site closes at 11:59 pm US EST on January 15th. Applicants will not be able to submit an application after the system closes.

Admission decisions will be mailed out by early March.  The MSRED program does not have rolling admissions.

How to Apply

You will need to download the following:

Re-Applicants

If your original application is one year or less old, supply the following items:

  • New Online Graduate Application form
  • Updated statement of objectives
  • Updated resume
  • Additional letters of recommendation are suggested but not required
  • Letter requesting your previous file to be reactivated (Please send via email to msredadmissions@mit.edu)
  • If your GMAT/GRE scores are more than five years old, you will need to re-take the exam and submit the new official score
  • If your TOEFL/IELTS scores are more than two years old, you will need to re-take the exam and submit the new official score

A note on materials and process:

  • If you are re-applying after more than one year, you will need to follow Application Instructions as though you are a new applicant. Materials are not kept for more than one year.
  • If you are applying after 1 year or less, your materials (scores, transcripts) will still be on file, provided your exam scores have not expired.
  • If you are applying after more than 1 year, you will need to submit new materials as applications and their supplemental materials are not kept on file for more than one year.
