After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aaron began his professional career as an engineer at Southern California Edison (SCE), one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. Upon completing a new graduate rotation program, Aaron worked as a project manager in SCE’s advanced energy efficient technology testing laboratory. There, he evaluated the effectiveness of cutting-edge energy efficient technologies and created programs to help encourage their adoption in the market place.
During his time at SCE, Aaron discovered a passion for real estate and in 2015, made the decision to change careers. He joined New Western Acquisitions, a nationwide wholesale firm that specializes in buying then selling distressed residential properties to fix-and-flip investors. During his three-year tenure at the firm, Aaron was directly responsible for the acquisition and/or disposition of over 60 residential properties across the Greater Los Angeles area, totaling over $28M. In 2017 he was the top ranked Acquisitions Agent in the Los Angeles office by both number of properties purchased and total acquisitions profit. At MIT, Aaron is looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of multi-family acquisitions and development with a focus on affordable housing.
Outside of the office, Aaron enjoys rock climbing and using his skydiving license to jump out of perfectly good airplanes.
