Ian joins MIT with seven years of real estate experience. Despite a background in commercial brokerage, he tends to view the world more like an engineer than a broker, and thrives best while discovering inefficiencies and streamlining processes. While at MIT, Ian is looking forward to working with innovators and entrepreneurs to identify additional opportunities for enhancing development processes.
Most recently, Ian was a financial analyst with Cushman & Wakefield’s (C&W) Capital Markets Investment Sales Group in San Diego, California. While there, he provided financial analysis expertise through valuation and cash flow projections, lease vs. buy analysis, and property cash flow audits. Since joining C&W, he has underwritten and participated in the successful disposition of more than $2.3 Billion worth of assets.
Prior to joining C&W, Ian cut his teeth at a small, boutique firm in San Diego. Over this introductory, two year stint in brokerage, he completed lease and sales transactions of office, industrial, retail, multifamily, and land, with over $7.5 Million in total consideration.
Ian received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate from San Diego State University, and holds active real estate licenses in both California (Broker) and Nevada (Broker-Salesperson).
