Jeff joins MIT as the 2018-19 Center for Real Estate Director’s Fellow. He brings a professional background in both real estate private equity and commercial brokerage to the MSRED program. At MIT, Jeff hopes to build on these experiences by advancing his understanding of the real estate development process.
Most recently, Jeff was an Associate at Merlone Geier Partners, a private real estate investment company focused on the acquisition, development, and redevelopment of retail and retail-driven mixed-use properties on the West Coast. In this role, Jeff held a diverse set of responsibilities ranging from asset-level development to fund-level analytics and reporting. Specifically, he worked on the underwriting and feasibility analysis of redevelopment projects including NoHo West in North Hollywood, CA and Northgate Mall in San Rafael, CA. He also assisted in raising the Partnership’s latest $1.14 billion discretionary equity fund.
Prior to Merlone Geier Partners, Jeff was an Associate at Eastdil Secured, a leading commercial real estate investment banking and brokerage company. As a member of the firm’s San Francisco office, he focused on the marketing and underwriting of investment sales across the West Coast. During his time at Eastdil Secured, Jeff worked on over $10 billion of closed office, retail, and hotel transactions.
Jeff holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with majors in real estate and finance. He is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
