Before joining the MSRED program, Renjie was a project manager in the Real Estate Division of China Southwest Architectural Design Corporation, subordinate to China State Construction Engineering Corporation. In the last 2 years, she supervised engineers for 5 real estate projects of various functionalities, totaling 880,000 m2, and ensured project process and quality from land bidding to completion. She also led a team to formulate innovative building strategy for Lakeshore Design Headquarters (one of the most representative ecological architectural designs in Southwest China), integrated over 40 green building technologies into the project implementation plan, and succeeded in making it achieve LEED Gold Certification Standard.
Renjie received both her Bachelor and Master’s degree of architecture from Tsinghua University with honors. After graduation, she worked in Atkins as an architect assistant
And in her current firm as a project architect. She is a LEED AP and has a National Class-1 Registered Architect of China Certificate.
The project management position provided Renjie opportunities to touch all links with Real Estate Development and hence deeper insights into this field of China. Now, she aspires to dive into strategy which can bring more innovation to this industry in her country. At MIT, Renjie plans to supplement her knowledge structure with more targeted resources such as finance, entrepreneurship and leadership courses to speed up her career change.
After work, Renjie loves travelling and serves as a regular volunteer for ADOPTION NOT PURCHASING, a stray animal protection organization.
